HOW IS COLLECTION IMPLEMENTED?

Collection from your work premises is entirely free, you have nothing to pay.  Nevertheless, to ensure that the service is free, that your waste is of quality (an essential condition for it to be recycled) and that collection operations can be carried out safely, we do ask that you follow certain rules.

RULE 1: Guarantee the quality of your waste

  • Never mix your waste oil with other waste. This will ensure that the levels of water, chlorine and PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls) contained within meet collection requirements.

  • Comply with sampling obligations required by law.

  • If the collection equipment is outdoors, protect it from the rain in order to prevent water pollution.

Do not mix your oil-change oil with other waste such as:

< 0,6% chlorine

< 50 ppm de PCB (Polychlorinated biphenyl)

RULE 2: Ensure personal safety and accessibility to your containers during collection

  • Package your waste oil in 200-litre drums or tanks with a retention tank.

  • Ensure that your containers can be pumped during collection.

  • Plan ahead. Contact your local collection-transfer station operator when your containers are 80% full.

  • Ensure that access can be gained in safe conditions, without having to do any climbing, and at a distance of no more than 20 meters from the pumping equipment.

  • Do not make the collection operator wait more than 15 minutes before allowing him to access your waste oils and before starting the pumping operation.

TRACKDÉCHETS : simplifying tracking and providing transparency in the industry.

trackdechets_logo.png

As from 1st January 2024, the Trackdéchets waste transfer note (WTN) is required to ensure the traceability of hazardous waste.

Trackdechets is a free digital platform implemented by the French Ministry of Ecological Transition. By making hazardous waste tracking paperless, this platform aims at simplifying its management and providing transparency and reliability in the sector’s treatment processes.

To help you implement this new practice, the public services have created tool such as tutorials, training courses, FAQ, etc.

In addition to the WTN, the digital format of which is now compulsory, you can keep the oil slip or (collection order) to establish the conditions of sale and the equipment required to handle the waste oils.
